Damyean Dotson

BIOGRAPHY

Damyean Dotson was born on May 6th, 1994 in Houston, Texas. He is a shooting guard in the NBA. 

Dotson began his career playing prep sports at Yates High School in Houston, Texas. In his senior season, Dotson averaged 21 points and 5 rebounds. He was named 2012 Houston Player of the Year by Houston Chronicle. Dotson was also selected as 4A All-State, All-Region 3 and All-District 21 as well for his senior season. He would commit to play colleigate basketball at the University of Oregon.

Dotson began his colleigate career at Oregon. In his freshman season, he started 36 of 37 games. He averaged 11.4 points and  3.5 rebounds on the season earning 2013 Kyle Macy Freshman All- America Team and All PAC-12 Tournament team. Dotson would play his sophomore season at Oregon before taking a redshirt year at Houston Community College and eventually landing at the University of Houston. He would go on to average 15.6 points, 6.9 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game for the Cougars and be named to the First Team American Athletic Conference.

On August 7, 2017, Dotson signed with the Knicks and during his rookie season, he play with Knicks and G League affiliate the Westchester Knicks. On November 29, Dotson became the eleventh player in history to play in the G League and NBA in the same day. On November 25, 2020, Dotson signed with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
