Andrew Wylie

BIOGRAPHY

Andrew Wylie was born on September 19th, 1994, in Hemlock, Michigan. He is an offensive tackle in the National Football League.

During high school, Wylien ranked as the 157th-best offensive tackle nationally by ESPN.com. He was named to the All-Saginaw Valley League second team and to The Daily News All-Area first team as a junior. He was a Division 1-2 All-State honorable mention selection. Wylie was selected to the second team All-State “Dream Team” by The Sports Scene. He led the Midland High offensive line that rushed for 2,200 yards and a 9-2 record.

During his freshman season, he was one of the 2012 winter recruits who sat out the season as a grayshirt with freshman eligibility in 2013. In 2013 during his sophomore season, he was an anchor on the Eagles’ offensive line, starting all 12 games at left tackle. As a junior in 2014, Wylien appeared in nine games on the EMU offensive line, starting seven of them at left guard and two at right tackle. During his senior season in 2015, he started all 12 games on the offensive line for the Green and White.

Over the course of four seasons, Wylie made 44 starts for the Eastern Michigan Eagles. He was named third team All-MAC his senior season.

Wylie signed with the Indianapolis Colts on May 15, 2017. Andrew Wylie has played for multiple teams throughout his NFL journey and is currently playing for the Kansas City Chiefs for the NFL.

On December 28 2017, Wylie signed with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Wylie started 11 games for the Chiefs in 2019, missing five games due to injury. Wylie suffered a high ankle sprain that caused him to miss the final two games of the regular season and all of the Chiefs' playoff games, including the team's win in Super Bowl LIV over the San Francisco 49ers.

Wylie signed a one-year exclusive-rights free agent contract with the Chiefs on April 20, 2020. He started 14 games at right guard during the regular season. He missed the third game of the season due to a severe stomach illness and was rested for the final game of the regular season. Wylie started the Chiefs' first two games of the postseason at right guard, but was shifted to right tackle for Kansas City's loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Super Bowl LV after starting tackle Eric Fisher tore his achilles in the AFC Championship Game.The Chiefs placed a restricted free agent tender on Wylie on March 17, 2021. He signed the one-year contract on May 11. He started seven games at right tackle in 2021.

Wylie signed a three-year, $24 million contract with the Washington Commanders on March 16, 2023.
