Chandon Sullivan

BIOGRAPHY

Chandon Sullivan was born on August 7, 1996, in Winder, Georgia. He is a cornerback in the NFL.

Chandon Sullivan was second-team All-Region 8-AAAAA at both cornerback and running back as a senior at Winder-Barrow High School. He was named all-area by the Athens Banner-Herald and was a Northeast Georgia FCA Scholar-Athlete. Sullivan collected over 1,100 all-purpose yards and scored 10 touchdowns as a senior.

Sullivan made an immediate impact as a true freshman at Georgia State and played in every game, including starting the final eight. Sullivan collected 43 tackles, an interception, a fumble recovery, and a pass breakup. He entered the starting lineup at cornerback in Game 5 at UL Lafayette, replacing Marcus Caffey, who moved to running back. Sullivan was shifted to safety for the final four games and averaged 6.5 tackles over those four contests.

Sullivan was an All-Sun Belt (honorable mention) selection who was also named to the 2015 Capital One Academic All-District football team in his sophomore year. Sullivan collected two interceptions, 50 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, and eight pass breakups on the season.

Sullivan was an All-Sun Belt (honorable mention) selection and CoSIDA Academic All-District honoree for the second straight year in 2016. Sullivan was the leader of a GSU secondary that finished seventh in the FBS in pass efficiency defense and eighth in passing yards allowed (173.9). Georgia State was the only FBS team that did not allow any offensive play, rushing or passing, of 50 yards or longer; the longest pass play allowed by the Panthers was 37 yards.

Sullivan was a third-team All-Sun Belt selection in 2017, earning all-conference honors for the third straight year. Sullivan was also first-team CoSIDA Academic All-American® with a 3.84 GPA. He was one of 13 national finalists for the National Football Foundation’s William V. Campbell Trophy® as the top football scholar-athlete in the nation in all divisions. Sullivan finished the season with 46 tackles, one interception, five pass breakups, one tackle for loss, and one fumble recovery.

Sullivan was a key performer on a Georgia State defense that set the school record for the fewest points per game allowed (24.75). He scooped up a fumble and returned it 28 yards for a touchdown on the first play of Georgia State’s 21-17 win at Georgia Southern. That made him the first Panther to score two defensive touchdowns in his career, following his pick-six vs. Arkansas State in 2015. Sullivan grabbed an interception vs. Appalachian State, his school-record seventh career pick.

Sullivan originally signed with the Philadelphia Eagles as an undrafted free agent on May 11, 2018. He spent his rookie season on the Eagles’ practice squad and active roster, appearing in five games with one start. Sullivan recorded 11 tackles (seven solo) and a pass defensed. The Packers signed CB Chandon Sullivan on May 6, 2019. In week 5 against the Dallas Cowboys, Sullivan intercepted a pass from Dak Prescott in the 34–24 win. Sullivan played in all 16 of the Packers' regular season games and recorded 30 tackles with six passes defended, one interception, and one forced fumble while also playing in both of the team's playoff games with one start. On March 17, 2020, the Packers tendered Sullivan for one year as an exclusive rights free agent. He signed the tender on April 27, 2020. On September 20, 2020, against the Detroit Lions Sullivan intercepted a pass thrown by Matthew Stafford on the Lions' seven-yard line and returned it for his first career touchdown during the 42–21 win.

The Packers placed a restricted free agent tender on Sullivan on March 17, 2021. Sullivan joined the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2023.
