Geronimo Allison

BIOGRAPHY

Geronimo Allison was born on January 18th, 1994 in Tampa, Florida. He is a wide receiver in the NFL.  

He attended Spoto High School where he played football for only one season catching 26 passes for 547 yards, an average 21.8 yards per catch, along with four touchdowns as a senior. In addition to football, he also lettered twice in baseball as a two-year varsity player and once in track. Allison set season records in 2012 for the 110m hurdles, 300m hurdles, and Long Jump. 

Geronimo played junior college football at Iowa Western where he led his team to win the 2012 NJCAA National Championship with a perfect 11-0 record.  Allison was ranked the No. 7 junior college wide receiver by Rivals and the No. 73 overall junior college prospect by Rivals.  Allison led the team to an 11-1 record in 2013, including a win over No. 5 Butler in the Graphic Edge Bowl, and logged 69 catches for 872 yards and eight touchdowns. He led the Midwest Football Conference in all three categories. Iowa Western finished 2013 ranked No. 2 in the NJCAA final national poll.

Allison enrolled at the University of Illinois and participated in 2014 spring practices. In his initial start for the Illini debut against Youngstown State and recorded his first two catches as an Illini, totaling 42 yards. Allison played and started 12 of 13 games, missing only the Texas State game. He snagged 41 passes for 598 yards and five touchdowns on the season and led the Illini with 118 receiving yards along with one score on five catches at Nebraska, giving him back-to-back 100-yard games. Allison reeled in his first two touchdowns as an Illini at Washington and totaled a career-high in eight receptions for 97 yards against Western Kentucky. Allison was an All-Big Ten honorable mention by the coaches and media his senior year. He played in all 12 games, including 11 starts at wide receiver. Allison led the team with 65 receptions for 882 receiving yards. He was eighth on the UI single-season receptions list with 65 catches. His three receiving touchdowns tied for the team lead and his 53-yard TD catch at Iowa was the longest Illini pass play of the season. Allison had a 1-yard touchdown reception vs. Nebraska with 10 seconds remaining sealed a 14-13 win in the Big Ten opener. He recorded 100-yard receiving games vs. WIU (124), MTSU (128) and Iowa (148) and career-high ten receptions vs. Middle Tennessee. Allison ranked in the top 50 in FBS and top five in Big Ten in receiving yards per game and receptions per game during the regular season. He was the Illini’s Service Above Self Award winner and named to the 2015 Biletnikoff Midseason Watch List.

Allison signed with the Green Bay Packers on May 6th, 2016. Allison made his NFL debut against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 8. His first career NFL reception came as a four-yard touchdown from Aaron Rodgers in the second quarter. Allison Played in 10 games with two starts as a rookie in 2016, posting 12 catches for 202 yards, an average of 16.8 yards per catch, along with and two touchdowns. He started as the third WR in the final two regular-season games, posting eight catches for 157 yards, an average of 19.6 yards per catch, and a Touchdown. All eight receptions were first down conversions. In week 3 of 2017, he had career-best six receptions for 122 yards against Cincinnati including a career-long 72-yard grab in overtime that set up Mason Crosby’s game-winning 27-yard Field Goal. He finished fourth among Packers receivers on the season with 23 receptions for 253 yards. Of his 35 career receptions, 21 have picked up first downs, a (60.0) percentage which ranked third among Packer receivers with 35-plus catches in 2016-17, trailing only Jordy Nelson (66.7) and Davante Adams (60.4).

In 2022, he signed a deal with the Atlanta Falcons.
