Marshall Newhouse

BIOGRAPHY

Marshall Newhouse was born on September 29th, 1988, in Dallas, Texas. He is an outside linebacker for the New England Patriots in the NFL. 

Newhouse attended Lake Highland High School and earned first-team All-District 10-5A honors as a senior. He lettered in football, track, and field, weightlifting and wrestling. 

Newhouse went on to Texas Christian University. He appeared in 52 games and started every game at left tackle. 

In the 2010 NFL draft, the Green Bay Packers selected Newhouse and in June, signed a contract. He was inactive due to injury in his first season. In 2011, he played in all 16 games with 13 starts. Newhouse made his first NFL debut against Denver. Starting ten at left tackle and three at right tackle as part of a line that helped set franchise records for points, total net yards, net passing yards, and fewest giveaways. In 2012, he started all 16 regular-season games at right tackle for the Packers as one of only two players to play every offensive snap as the team finished fifth in the NFL in scoring. In 2013, he played in 15 games with two starts at right tackle for the Packers. 

In 2014, Newhouse signed a one year deal worth $805,000 with the Cincinnati Bengals. He started as an extra offensive lineman at Cleveland as part of a line that helped the team rush for 244 yards, the highest total by the Bengals since 2004. 

In 2015, Newhouse signed with the New York Giants. He started at right-tackle in 14 games. Newhouse played in the offensive line that helped the Giants finish sixth in the NFL in scoring and eighth in total offense. 

In 2017, Newhouse signed a two-year, $3,500,000 contract with the Oakland Raiders. He started in all 14 games as of right tackles. In 2018, he was released. In March 2018, Newhouse signed a one year contract with the Buffalo Bills, until they traded him to the Carolina Panthers. In May 2019, he signed with the New Orleans Saint. After being placed on injured reserve in August, he was released the next day. On September 11, 2019, Newhouse signed with the New England Patriots.
