Martinas Rankin

BIOGRAPHY

Martinas Orlando Rankin was born on October 20th, 1994, in Jackson, Mississippi. He is an offensive tackle in the NFL. 

During high school, Rankin was rated as the ninth-best junior college recruit by 247 Sports.

Rankin played for the Mississippi State University football team from 2015 to 2017. Rankin proved to be one of the top offensive linemen in the SEC during his two years on the field at Mississippi State, he can play all positions but saw all of his game action at tackle, he signed with MSU in December 2014, enrolled for the spring 2015 semester and then redshirted in the fall of 2015. Rankin came to MSU as the nation’s top junior college offensive lineman, played in 23 games with 18 starts with all starts coming at tackle. He was a two-time member of the SEC Academic Honor Roll and a Dean’s List recipient who maintained a 3.3 GPA and was a semifinalist for college football’s top academic award as a senior, selected as a team captain by his teammates prior to his final season.

The Houston Texas selected Rankins in the third round (80th overall) of the 2018 NFL Draft. On May 10, 2018, the Houston Texans signed Rankin to a four-year contract.

Martinas Orlando Rankin has played for multiple teams throughout his NFL journey and is currently playing for the Kansas City Chiefs in the NFL. On August 31, 2019, Rankin was traded to the Kansas City Chiefs.
