Quincy Williams

BIOGRAPHY

Quincy Lamonte Williams II was born on August 28, 1996, in Birmingham, Alabama. He is a linebacker in the National Football League.

He played for head coach Ronald Cheatham at Wenonah High School, Williams was selected as the Birmingham Athletic Partnership Defensive Player of the Year as a senior. He finished the season with 101 tackles, 11 tackles-for-loss, three sacks, five pass breakups, and three forced fumbles. He also garnered first-team all-metro honors. Williams was named to the Birmingham News All-West honorable mention team as a junior. He registered 85 tackles, 11.5 tackles-for-loss, one interception, and five pass break-ups. Williams jumped 6-4 to claim the Alabama state high jump championship in 2013.

He redshirted during the 2014 season. On the season of 2015, he played in 11 games with three starts. Williams made 31 tackles with a career-high eight against Eastern Kentucky. He had a pass breakup against Eastern Kentucky. During his junior season on 2016, Williams played in 10 games with three starts, he made 32 tackles with 13 solos, recorded one pass breakup and four quarterback hits and had one blocked kick against Eastern Kentucky. As a senior on 2017, he played in 11 games with 10 starts, Williams finished fourth on the team with 57 tackles, tallied a career-high 10 tackles against Eastern Illinois and hauled in first career interception against Eastern Kentucky. Williams was drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the third round with the 98th overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.  On September 1, 2021, the New York Jets claimed Williams off waivers. On October 3, 2021, the Williams siblings became the first pair of brothers with sacks in the same game for the same team since sacks became an official stat in 1982. They combined for 19 tackles in the Jets' 27-24 overtime victory over the Tennessee Titans. He is the older brother of Quinnen Williams, a defensive lineman for the New York Jets.
